Hi, I’m Joe,
the eye & heart
behind Bellé.
Photography has always been a part of my life. Growing up in a photographic family, I was immersed in every aspect of the industry from a young age. My earliest memories are with my father, Luigi, founder of Bellé Photo who has been a respected wedding and portrait photographer for over 40 years. His passion, dedication and success inspired me to follow in his footsteps and eventually take over our family-run studio.
I attended my first wedding as his assistant at just 8 years old. Even at that age, I stayed for the entire day and I loved every moment. That experience sparked a lifelong passion and I continued assisting him whenever I could, whether in the studio or out on location. I always dreamed of building a father-and-son team—and now, after two decades of working side-by-side, I’m proud to carry on his legacy.
Over the course of my career, I’ve experienced photography from every angle from shooting and processing film on 35mm and medium format cameras to mastering digital photography. I pursued formal training with an Advanced Diploma of Commercial Photography and began photographing weddings on my own at just 18 years old. Nerves aside, I was hooked. Since then, I’ve photographed thousands of weddings and portraits locally, interstate and internationally earning industry recognition including South Australian AAPP Wedding Photographer of the Year, Australian AAPP Wedding Album of the year and Open Photographer of the Year.
The love of photography, the privilege it brings to capture precious memories of people’s lives is a huge part of who I am. It’s my passion, my career and I love what I do.
Outside of the studio, my other most precious loves are my amazing wife who is my best friend, and my three wonderful children who make me see the world in a new way. We love spending time travelling, gardening, cooking and exploring nature. I love great food, sharing a good wine with friends, music, fashion and sports.
